Established in 2017, OPEN OBJECT is a contemporary Chinese ceramic brand based in Shanghai. The brand re-interprets the notion of ‘Chinese ceramics’ by integrating modernist design principles with meticulous craftsmanship. OPEN OBJECT seeks the abstract quality of simple forms and the timeless beauty of well-balanced proportions.

Since Wang Ziyu of the Jin Dynasty's famous saying, "What can I do without you(bamboo) for a day"(何可一日无此君) ，bamboo has been seen as a symbol of integrity and an open mind, often used to praise and inspire. OPEN OBJECT introduced the "Jie" series, using bamboo as its inspiration to convey the elegance of the East.
