Atsushi Shimomura | Kohiki Plate

下村 淳 Atsushi Shimomura was born in Kanagawa in 1985 and makes pottery in Sagamihara City. He trained under Taiga Nakazato at Karatsu Ryuta Kiln. Since 2020, he has worked on his own, focusing on white slip and black glaze pottery. His work brings together the natural beauty of clay with gentle, thoughtful shapes, creating tableware that adds a warm and modern touch to everyday meals.

Microwave safe. However, rapid change in temperature and impacts may cause cracks on the surface.

Do not use in oven and dishwasher

Because each piece is handmade, you might see small black spots, differences in glaze color, size, shape, or glaze drips. These are natural and make each item unique.

Our kohiki pottery is slightly porous and can absorb water and oils. To keep it looking good, we recommend soaking it in water for 10–15 minutes before first use. This helps prevent stains.

Handle with care to avoid chips and cracks.
