Chang Liang

Born in 1987, he is based in Hangzhou and graduated from the Ceramics Department of the China Academy of Art in 2012.

He sees ceramic making as a way of returning to the basics: clay, handcraft, everyday use, and time. Through shaping and throwing, he explores the connection between mind, hand, and material, seeking a balance between function and beauty. His vessels are meant for daily life, to be used with tea, meals, and shared moments over time.
