In early 2025, Du Yu began the "100 Handmade Wooden Spoons" project—a year-long exploration to create one hundred uniquely shaped wooden spoons.

The entire making process is carried out using traditional hand tools. Each piece is shaped in accordance with the wood’s natural structure and grain, and finished only with plant-based oil to preserve its warm tactile quality and natural character.

Through this body of work, Du Yu seeks to transcend convention while remaining rooted in everyday life, exploring the balance between functionality and aesthetic expression in daily-use objects.
