CNY Special Orchid with Planter

As the Chinese New Year around the corner, we have prepared a CNY special flower. This year, we are putting the spotlight on Singapore's national flower, the Orchid, which is a common festive flower. It symbolises beauty and friendship and is a shared cultural symbol. 

During Chinese New Year period, we will also transport OPEN OBJECT's showroom from Shanghai, China, to Chinatown, Singapore and curate a limited-time exhibition together. Using ceramics as a medium, the exhibition showcase the vision of modern home living, conveying more possibilities of Chinese contemporary culture to the Chinese community in Singapore, known for its rich historical heritage. 

It's a tangible journey of cultural exchange and celebration, taking place right in the heart of Chinatown, Singapore.

In Chinese tradition, orchids are heralded as bearers of good fortune and prosperity. Incorporating these graceful blooms into New Year's decorations or presenting orchid plants as gifts is believed to bring positive energy and blessings for the approaching year. With their symbolic ties to fertility and abundance, orchids serve as elegant expressions of hope for a year filled with prosperity and fruitful endeavors.

• OPEN OBJECT Vase NO.8

The Vase NO.8 collection is a simple form of inverted frustums on top of each other which is extracted from the traditional long-necked and round-bellied shape, turning into an elegant and new silhouette. This ceramic vase is approximately ⌀110 x 105 mm.
